cHOROS was asked to solve a problem created by the construction of a new swimming pool and terrace on the lower ground level of a new property that had created a very steeply sloping bank that left the owner cutting the grass with a flymo on a rope!
cHOROS took advantage of the slope and created an attractive hanging garden design comprised of a series of terraces, accessed from two main flights of steps, and level paths that wound around the contours. The terraces were created in timber. The paths provided spaces for low sun loving shrub planting, ground cover and hanging plants. Smaller steps linked the paths at different locations and seating areas were provided in key locations.
A wide flight of steps linked the lower terrace with the middle terrace and the steps and terrace was laid in porphyry stone.
