cHOROS - Private Open Space

Victoria Street, St Albans. Townstone Ltd.

Located at the site of the old Majestic warehouse, the scheme provided a
mixed development of offices and residential units. The small site was
enclosed on all sides by both the new building and tall brick walls. The
entrance to the building was via a covered access route which also served the new car park and the outdoor space was predominantly taken up with car parking.


cHOROS created a bold hard landscape design using natural stone materials and striking directional lighting to create a dramatic impact at
the entrance to the building and to soften the car parking, which would be
visible from above. Stainless steel wires and uplighters were used to support climbers and highlight the brickwork of the tall walls.
