cHOROS - Public Open Space
Maes Artro Craft Centre, Llanbedr, Wales.
cHOROS was commissioned to design the landscape surrounding a series of craft houses and an internal attraction which was to be located inside the restaurant at the Maes Artro Craft Centre.
The axonometric shows the character of the landscape surrounding the craft houses.

The restaurant space was centrally located within the restaurant and fairly limited. In order to provide an illusion of space and sense of greater privacy cHOROS designed a pool area with irregular but geometric shaped planters on the edges with a series of edge to edge mirrors on the rear wall so that the pool and planting was mirrored.
The indoor planting was selected to include a range of bold and delicate textures and trailing and climbing plants to soften the edges of the pool to give the impression of it extending into the distance.
The craft centre and restaurant was very popular and later won a Prince of Wales Award.
